Description

Taking your vegetable side dishes up a notch with these Air Fryer Carrots. They’re quick and easy, and you can enjoy them three different ways, with sweet, savory and spicy options included in the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced carrots (1/4-inch thick), washed and patted dry
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Savory version

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Sweet version

  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Spicy version

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add the sliced carrots to a large bowl and evenly coat with oil. Add your choice of seasonings and toss to coat.
  2. Place carrots in the air fryer basket and air fry on 400F for 18-20 minutes, or until fork tender. Shake or stir the carrots after about 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Make sure your carrot slices are all about 1/4-inch thick so they cook evenly.
  2. The spicy version is more than moderately spicy, so if you like things on the milder side, just omit the cayenne pepper.
  3. The sweet version also has a spicy kick, so if you want them strictly sweet, just leave out the crushed red pepper flakes.
  4. If you half the recipe, just reduce the air frying time to 12-15 minutes.
  5. The recipe instructions are based on a Philips air fryer with a 2.75 quart capacity. Depending on the size and brand of your air fryer, you may need to adjust the temperature and air frying time slightly.
